SHAH ALAM, May 12 — Selangor legislative watchdog Selcat will investigate Kapar MP S. Manikavasagam’s claims of graft involving senior officials in Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim (picture) announced today.
Manikavasagam had stirred controversy recently for issuing two ultimatums to the Selangor mentri besar to act against suspected corrupt officials in the state-owned sand mining company. Both leaders met this morning, with Manikavasagam saying he had Khalid’s nod to lodge police reports over the matter.
“We hope Selcat chairman Teng Chang Khim will act on the allegations immediately,” Khalid told reporters today.
Selcat is Selangor’s Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency aimed at probing graft claims.
