BANDUNG, May 9: The municipality of the Indonesian city of Bandung and the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) will ban the circulation of alcoholic drinks at supermarkets and mini marts selling drinks containing 0.1 percent to 5 percent alcohol.
“We are aware that many will disapprove,” said Bandung Municipality Council member, Kadmaja, at a meeting with students rejecting the legalization of alcoholic drinks at the DPRD office in Bandung, West Java, yesterday.
Kadmaja said the government and the council are completing a draft regulation on controlling the circulation of alcoholic drinks in Bandung.
Henceforth, drinks with high alcoholic levels can only be sold in starred-hotels.
