KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama) -- Starting tomorrow, female passengers of KTM Komuter train for the Sentul-Port Klang route can choose to take a ride in a normal passenger coach or in a special ladies coach.



Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) in a statement here on Tuesday, said the ladies coach, themed 'Ladies Only At All Times' could be identified by the pink stickers on its door and windows, as well as pink banners and arch, put up at its special section at the platform.

Boys aged below 12, however, would be allowed to take a ride in the ladies coach if they were accompanied by a female passenger, it said.

The introduction of the ladies coach is aimed at providing comfort and protecting female passengers from sexual harassment.

According to KTMB's statistics, 60 per cent of its Komuter passengers are women.
